Tornado Pics

This is a shot of the field across the road from our house, where much of our house ended up. We were blessed to have lots of friends and family help us sort through everything.

Another shot of the basement. Zoey (our dog) was trapped in the bathroom, which was in this nook of the basement. Mike found her alive under all this rubble, still wagging her tail and unharmed.

Here's another shot of the basement looking toward the walk-out. I'll never forget opening the door to the storm room and realizing our house was gone. Glass and nails were everywhere, and the kids and I were barefoot.

Here is what remains of our basement. It was a walk-out basement... Much of the debris was pushed up against the foundation wall. You can see the door of the storm room where the kids and I were at the front right corner of the image. The door is being supported with a piece of plywood and post to protect what remained in that room.

This is the pile of our belongings that were found in the area. We did recover some clothes that were across the road in the debris, and some belongings that were in our storage/storm room with the kids and I.

Here is some of the debris in our front yard between the house and road. You can see what remains of the trees in the background.

This is the front of where our house used to be. Only the foundation and a few scraps in the basement remained. You can see Mike's SUV that was in the garage during the tornado.
